On November 9, 2012 I attended a whisky tasting for Roger’s House and this is where I tried this whisky. Disclaimer: the way it was set up was you basically had one glass that you had to re-use, so I had to use the water I had and napkins to clean out and wipe my current glass for the next whisky. NOT the recommended method, so I can’t be sure if part of the tasting was compromised or not.
The Talisker 10 Year Old was a fairly strong whisky (first impression really opened the eyes!), had medicinal aromas, peaty, leather, and was quite smooth. It coated the mouth and had a unique an interesting aroma/taste. There was also a mesquite or BBQ-like aroma near the end (peppery!). It’s a very popular whisky and I wish I could have spent more time with it. Talisker is another distillery of which I’d love to try more of.
